Starting anything new is simply terrifying for me. Learning to "blog" feels like it's way out of my league. But baby steps.... lots and lots of baby steps!
This all started with stumbling across a wonderful blog that read like an amazing story. A couple's journey down the Pan American Highway, complete with pictures and travel advice for everything from what to drive, where to sleep, border crossings, and the all the fantastic sights and sounds along the way. (Hopefully, I will be able to add the link to their blog in this site.... wish me luck!) So in my crazy effort to "find myself", somewhere here in the middle of my life, I realized that amazing adventures like that were never going to happen to me because I am solified like a statue, encased in my fear of everything. Admitting that is quite an accomplishment in itself. So here is my first blush at the steps I want to take to eventually lead me to the freedom of the road, and wandering around, making my way all the way down to the tip of South America.
Yes, it's a grand goal. And since I'm tied to a mortgage that is twice as much as my boring suburban house is worth makes "far fetched" an understatement. But who says you can't bring Tierra del Fuego home with you?
Let's start with that, shall we? My boring suburban house, with the same boring backyard that every home in suburbia has. Ever stop to think what "resale value" really means when you owe twice the value of the house? The heck with worrying about that then! I'm going to try to start this blog with the transformation from Plain Jane, to SERIOUSLY?!?!?
